Public procurement announced for design and author's supervision of the National Children's Hospital

"Health Investment Company for Children's Hospital" has announced a public procurement with the subject: "Design and author's supervision for the construction of the National Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment of Children" through an open procedure. The selected contractor will perform the design and author's supervision of a hospital complex that includes 26 clinics and departments, 20 operating rooms, an outpatient-diagnostic block with 38 consulting rooms, 26 procedure rooms, and 7 rooms for invasive procedures. The facility will also feature a day hospital, imaging and nuclear medicine departments, laboratories, an administrative and economic block, a training and research center, social and psychological support units, a helipad, parking, and service infrastructure, all in compliance with current regulatory requirements.
The medical facility will provide key services including emergency and highly specialized pediatric consultative care, intensive care with capabilities for long-term respiratory resuscitation, and neonatological care for infants born with high degrees of prematurity or extremely low birth weight. Furthermore, it will offer comprehensive services for children with congenital anomalies, chronic conditions, rare diseases, and other severe illnesses, alongside long-term care, rehabilitation, and palliative care. An integrated treatment approach will be implemented, focusing on disease prevention, timely diagnosis, and intervention, as well as support for the families of the patients.
The estimated maximum value of the procurement is €5,040,817.93 excluding VAT, determined through market consultations in accordance with the Public Procurement Act. The award criterion is "lowest price". The design period is set between 210 and 300 calendar days, while the author's supervision will be conducted during construction with an indicative duration of 36 months. The documentation underwent mandatory control and received a positive opinion from the Public Procurement Agency on March 12, 2026.
On April 10, 2026, an announcement was published regarding amendments to the procedure conditions, extending the deadline for bid submissions to May 19, 2026 (23:59). The opening of bids is scheduled for May 20, 2026, at 14:00. The procurement has been visible in the Public Procurement Act system since March 27, 2026, following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
